How to combine photos into one PDF
Schools, landlords, visa centres and HR portals often want "one PDF" instead of ten separate photos. Every major system can do it without installing anything. Here is the fastest built-in route on each, and when a browser tool is easier.
iPhone and iPad (Photos app)
- Open Photos, tap Select and tap the pictures in the order you want them.
- Tap the Share button, then Print.
- On the print preview, spread two fingers on a page thumbnail. It opens as a PDF.
- Tap Share again and choose Save to Files, Mail or the app you need.
Order follows the order you selected. Pages are Letter or A4 depending on your region, with white margins.
Android
- In Google Photos select the pictures, tap Share → Print (on some phones it's under the ⋮ menu).
- Set the printer to Save as PDF and tap the PDF button.
Some versions of Google Photos only print one picture at a time. The Files by Google app or Google Drive's Scan button are alternatives, but Scan expects you to photograph paper again.
Windows 10 and 11
- In File Explorer, select the images (Ctrl-click in order), right-click → Print.
- Choose the printer Microsoft Print to PDF, pick the "Full page photo" layout and untick Fit picture to frame if you don't want edges cropped.
- Click Print and choose where to save.
Watch out: Windows sorts the pages by its own order, not your click order. Rename files 01, 02, 03… first if order matters. "Fit picture to frame" crops the edges of documents, so leave it off for scans.
Mac (Preview)
- Select the images in Finder, right-click → Quick Actions → Create PDF. Finder orders pages by file name.
- Or open them all in Preview, drag thumbnails in the sidebar to reorder, then File → Print → Save as PDF.
Any device, in a browser
If you're on a shared or work computer, mixing photos from different places, or need A4 for a form, a browser tool is quicker: PDFSnap lets you drop all the images, drag them into order, rotate sideways shots and download one PDF. It runs locally, so nothing is uploaded.
Which page size should I choose?
| Situation | Choose |
|---|---|
| US school, employer or government form | US Letter |
| Almost everywhere else, visa and university applications | A4 |
| Only viewed on screen (portfolio, screenshots) | Same as image |
My PDF is too big to email
A modern phone photo is 3–5 MB, and print-to-PDF often keeps the full resolution. Ten photos can exceed Gmail's 25 MB limit. In PDFSnap choose Smaller file: pages are resized to about 1400 px on the long side, which is still sharp on screen and readable when printed.
